Borders International Stores

When Borders opened its first international store in Singapore, the local custom was to keep new books shrink-wrapped in plastic. We took the wrappers off and uncovered a new world of exploration for shoppers there and in other locations around the world.

Today, Borders operates 22 superstores in Australia, five in New Zealand, three in Puerto Rico and two in Singapore. In addition, there are four franchise Borders stores in Malaysia and four in the U.A.E. For current international locations, visit our international store listing.

Waldenbooks Specialty Retail

While zipping through the mall, Waldenbooks stores offer a place where you can find all the hottest books, delightful gifts, and a great newsstand.

Waldenbooks is America's largest mall-based book retailer. So, next time you need a page-turner for the beach or some feel-good fiction for fireside reading, you can be sure a Waldenbooks is nearby. In March 2007, Borders Group announced that in order to focus on its domestic Borders superstore business, the company plans to close 250 Waldenbooks locations over the next two years. Ultimately, Borders Group expects to have approximately 300 Waldenbooks stores in malls nationwide.

To meet the needs of hurried travelers, we also offer 25 Borders airport stores across the U.S. In addition, there are 14 Borders Outlet stores in outlet shopping malls.
